Legacy Dance is one studio, and one connected community sharing the same vision ‘• “Dance with heart, dance with friends, dance with Legacy. “ — proudly brought to life across our two vibrant locations in Wellington and Nelson.

Although we operate in two cities, we sharing the same culture, teaching philosophy, and dedication to developing confident, creative, technically strong dancers, while building community and having fun and creating memories and friendships.

We cater to dancers of every level — from those who simply love turning up each week for fun, fitness, and friendship, through to dancers who thrive in our performance and competitive pathways. Every student is valued here, whether they dance once a week or train at an elite level. Our focus is always on growth, joy, teamwork, and nurturing each dancer’s individual journey.

Our culture is grounded in respect, collaboration, hard work, and genuine care — both on and off the dance floor. We offer an extensive range of styles including jazz, contemporary, tap, hip hop, ballet and musical theatre, along with competitive crews, troupes, and specialised development programmes.

With a passionate and experienced teaching team, visiting choreographers, and a commitment to producing high-quality shows and events, Legacy Dance creates experiences that challenge, inspire, and grow every dancer.
